Fundraising Impact
Funds raised from our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events are donated to support organizations focused on trauma relief and mental health or to contribute to the EMDR UK Association research fund to support clinical studies.
Two of the recent causes we’ve proudly supported are:
Police Care UK:
an independent charity dedicated to providing confidential, emotional, and practical assistance to serving and retired police officers, staff, volunteers, and their families across the UK. The organisation focuses on those who have suffered physical or psychological harm because of their policing roles.
Funded entirely by donations, Police Care UK delivers its services at no cost to beneficiaries. Their support includes therapy, grants, and advocacy, ensuring that no one affected by policing is left without support. King Charles III serves as the charity’s Patron.
The impact of community support is evident through contributions, such as the donation from the EMDR Kent regional group.
In response, Police Care UK expressed its gratitude, stating:
"On behalf of everyone at Police Care UK, I would like to express our thanks to you and the board of EMDR Kent for your donation towards future EMDR therapy for police staff/officers. It is help from donations like yours that means we can continue supporting serving and former police officers and staff, veterans, volunteers, and their families."
Donations such as these ensure that Police Care UK can continue to provide therapeutic support, including EMDR therapy, to those who need it most. Through the generosity of supporters, the charity is able to make a lasting difference in the lives of police personnel and their loved ones.
The Voice of Domestic Workers:
a grassroots organisation led by migrant domestic workers who have experienced trafficking and exploitation. Funding from the Kent Regional EMDR Group enabled the charity to offer specialist EMDR therapy to domestic workers who had been trafficked, increasing access to trauma treatment for survivors facing significant barriers to support.
By attending our CPD events, you are not only investing in your professional development, but also helping to ensure that traumatised individuals can access the EMDR therapy they need.
